Elephant Trees NEW SINGLE 'Uncomfortable' Out 5th October 2018 + Tour Dates

ELEPHANT TREES GET ‘UNCOMFORTABLE’ ON NEW SINGLE

Fast-rising Manchester alt-rockers Elephant Trees return today with their new single Uncomfortable via HA! Music.

With their recent single Open Up picking up support from Alt Press, Upset Magazine and Spotify, Uncomfortable explores the more unpredictable edges of their sound without losing their pop sensibilities.

Listen to Uncomfortable on Soundcloud here now.

“It’s confused and messy in parts, and that’s intentional, it represents my brain” says frontwoman Martha Philips of the new single. “I’m writing a lot about
mental health, especially in music. Over the past year we’ve seen so many suicides and overdoses, there is a clear need to talk about mental health and the loneliness. People our age have our phones stuck in our hands and are lost in these worlds of false stories and opinions, screaming at us about who we are meant to be - there is a disparity between us and the older generations, who lived in ‘simpler’ times. They don’t understand the stress and sadness in our way of living.
‘Uncomfortable’ is all about expressing that feeling and rising up to not feel so powerless anymore."

Elephant Trees’ chaotic mix of alt-rock, disco, pop and punk has seen them blow away audiences at The Great Escape, Leeds Pride and Kendal Calling this summer as well as play a string of headline shows of their own. At only 20, Martha Phillips consistently delivers biting vocals and unforgettable hooks, tapping into a uniquely Gen Z take on relationships, gender, mental health and society. The band's live show is a masterclass in girl power, queer power, and in doing what you love - they’re on tour in October.
