Next Week On Coronation Street 30th - 3rd August

9520 Monday July 30th - BILLY’S ON TO DAVID

David insists on going for a walk prompting a worried Shona to speak to Billy who offers to track him down. Going through receipts she finds a few for a particular cafe. Seeing David sat in his car and then following a man coming out of some flats Billy waits till David stops outside a bar and jumps in the passenger seat - what is David up to?

Meanwhile Johnny is bereft thinking he may never see his granddaughter again.

Also Sean jumps at the offer of a grotty bedsit one of Dev’s friends is renting out. Sean gets texts from Violet saying he has made no payments for Dylan, he tells Eileen it is a hiccup with the bank.

Finally, Summer gives a smitten Max his first maths lesson. Gemma and Henry practice some landlady/customer role play in the Rovers. Daniel takes some vintage dresses into the factory to show Sinead but neither see a moth fly out of the bag. Kirk spots the moth and Daniel makes a swift exit. Peter tells Carla he misses her and they should have dinner.

David explains to Billy that he has been watching Josh to make sure he doesn’t attack anyone again. The guy he was following has been spending time with Josh. Billy persuades David to go home. Once David has gone Billy approaches the guy and telling him he is a vicar warns him to steer clear of Josh as he is a rapist. Later the police call at Billy’s and say that Josh has been beaten to a pulp by the guy he spoke to. Feeling guilty Billy comes clean to David and Shona.

Daniel stuffs the vintage dresses in a freezer to try and kill off the eggs and confesses to Carla he has brought moths into the factory.

Meanwhile Henry and Gemma help themselves to the Rovers’ cellar and get roaring drunk trying out various cocktails. Leanne’s furious and throws them out. Rita reminds Leanne of her own humble beginnings and suggests she cuts Gemma some slack and gives her some guidance on running a pub.

Elsewhere Sean confirms that he’ll take the grotty bedsit but can’t pay the deposit until he gets paid. Dev promises to have a word with his friend and see what he can do. Johnny tells Kate and Michelle that he’s not going to stand up in court and make out that Aidan wasn’t of sound mind as with Susie gone he no longer cares about the factory.

Sean makes out to Carol, a homeless woman, that he is sleeping rough for charity and gives her his tent. After getting his wages from Toyah he is disappointed when Dev says that he is too late the bedsit has gone to someone else. Trying to get his tent back from Carol he is affronted when she gives him a list of hostels and waves his cash in her face. He is then robbed by two men in the toilets.

Meanwhile Alya is furious when a new client inspects some of the underwear only to find it full of holes caused by the moth. She blames Daniel and Sinead for the lost order prompting Daniel to say Sinead is leaving her job anyway as they are starting a new business. Stunned Sinead tells Daniel that’s a bad idea as she think she might be pregnant.

Jenny urges Johnny not to stop fighting for the factory as Eva may one day allow him to be part of Susie’s life.

Finally, Leanne and Toyah suggest Gemma tries running the pub for a day but she overspends at the cash and carry. David admits to Shona he visited Josh in hospital. Billy calls the hospital pretending to be a relative.

Carol finds Sean slumped in the toilets battered and bruised and takes him to A&E where he is forced to admit he is homeless. Back at the rec Sean finds his things have been stolen and Carol shows him a homeless encampment in another area of the park. Sean wonders how his life has come to this.

A pregnancy test reveals Sinead is indeed pregnant. Daniel and Sinead beg for her job back.

Meanwhile Johnny vows to do all he can to get Eva to come to the inquest so that he can see Susie one more time.

Finally, Carla agrees to put 25% towards Maria’s business plan. Billy prays at Josh’s bedside. Gemma promises to pay Leanne back the £300 overspend from the cash and carry.

It is the day of Aidan’s inquest and the Connors are relieved when Eva arrives at the last minute. Johnny gives his evidence followed by Eva.

Elsewhere, Sean arrives for work but is embarrassed when Henry remarks on a strange smell. Meanwhile Craig offers to try and find the thugs who attacked him but is bemused when Sean brushes him off.

And determined to claw back the money she owes Leanne, Gemma impresses Henry with her plans to invent a new cocktail.

As the inquest ends Eva says an emotional farewell to Kate , united in their love for Aidan. Toyah begs her to stay but Eva says it is the best thing for everyone if she goes. Johnny apologises for snatching Susie.

Gemma’s half price cocktails are a huge hit and she copes brilliantly with drunken revellers, leaving Henry impressed with her people skills. But Chesney is intrigued and concerned when he hears Henry take a suspicious phone call. What is he up to?

Carol finds Sean in the urban garden. Sean admits he’s starving and when Carol offers him a half eaten pizza, he buries his pride and tucks in ravenously.

When Steve discovers Tracy lied about the wedding fair and that she, Abi and Beth are off to a rave in Blackpool, he uses it to his advantage. Steve tells Tracy she can go to Blackpool with his blessing and he’ll attend Amy’s concert. Grateful Tracy promises to buy him a season ticket to County by way of thanks.

And finally, Brian and Joseph spend an enjoyable day building a den in the backyard. Joseph begs Brian to ditch his plan to open a shop and look after him instead. Brian’s torn. Brian persuades Cathy that opening a shop isn’t such a good idea as it’s a risky business and they could lose all their savings.
