The Outlaw Orchestra, formed in Southampton in 2016, are a powerhouse four piece, comprising of drums, banjo, guitar and double bass.

Southern Country Rock Bluegrass and everything in between..

Hard Southern Rock through to Cajun/Dixie/Country and Flamenco described as “A melting pot of styles from American Southern rock, British 70’s rock, Louisiana roots to bluegrass”.

David Roux - Guitars/Lead Vocals
Ryan Smith - Drums/Percussion/Vocals
Alex Barter - Double Bass/Vocals
Stephen Welch - Banjo

The sound is a unique blend which showcases the musical talent which each band member brings to the fold, having the musical maturity to mix high energy with moody soulful rock. With their debut ten track CD released, they have drawn comparisons with Humble Pie, The Black Crowes through to the Cosmic American country genre.

Recent accomplishments include a home territory sold out show at the Portsmouth Guildhall, packing the indoor stage at Bristol’s Grillstock Festival alongside Hayseed Dixie and The Darkness.

In 2017, the band secured an endorsement from Swedish Rock‘n’Roll craft beer company Pistonhead lager, who added them to their artist roster of ‘bands to watch out for’! They also gained endorsement from ‘Cloven Hoof’ spiced rum who will be booking them into various festivals and events across the UK in 2017/2018.

“Sunday was headlined by The Outlaw Orchestra. Their fast paced, high octane performance blew festival goers out the tent
and gained mass applause from the crowd”

Jamie Mogridge Percy - Writer – GigSoup - Grillstock Festival 2017

“Another party band next and the thigh slapping country of The Outlaw Orchestra. These guys were awesome. Mixing the rockabilly of the Stray Cats with a bit of Little Feat and Lynyrd Skynyrd and a love of all things hillbilly, definitely well worth a punt based on name alone. Dirty bluesy, swamp music, with harmonica that sounded like the devil himself”

Keith Teeth - Writer - Mr Teeth Reviews - Icebreaker Festival 2017

“Their hillbilly country blues rock always goes down a storm and you’ll leave a gig with an enormous grin plastered all over your dribbling, trembling chops. Please go and see them if you haven’t yet. They’re one of those” bands that you’ll fall for and you’ll always wished you discovered them earlier so get on the case now”

Bernadette Pamplin – Writer – Strong Island
